Moravia Systems has long focused and developed in the field of "on-site" maintenance of valves. A typical case of this is a change of opening pressure of safety valves during operation when using EVT device performed on a new drying unit of undergroud gas storage of Moravia Gas Storage company in Dambořice. The drying unit is a part of the modern natural gas treatment tecnology called Solid Desiccant-based Dehydration.
We received a request to change the opening pressures of the safety valves in one part of the technology during warranty operation. Using the usual procedures this would mean shut down of the unit, removing the safety valves and transporting them to a workshop to adjust the opening pressure on the test bench.
However, with the use of modern equipment and modern methods, this operation can already be performed directly on the spot during operation.the The EVT device works on the principle of a slight lightening of the plug with a very precisely measured force of the hydraulic cylinder and the comparison of this value with the actual working pressure and the force of the spring defines the actual opening pressure. The exact setting of the opening pressure or its control can be done "on-site" and at the same time "on-line". This eliminates the need for the operator to unplanned shut down of the gas storage facility, lose availability, etc.
The result of the technology of drying natural gas using a solid desiccant is extremely pure natural gas with a very low dew point obtained by an environmentally friendly process.
